STTP on Digital Image Processing

AICTE-ISTE approved One Week STTP on “Digital Image Processing – Issues, Challenges and Research Avenues”

AICTE-ISTE Approved One Week  STTP entitled “Digital Image Processing – Issues, Challenges and Research Avenues” was jointly organized by Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering and Department of Electronics Engineering from 04 June 2018– 08 June 2018 at Finolex Academy of Management & Technology, Ratnagiri. The STTP was organized as an attempt to bring academicians and researchers possessing image processing interests under one roof and thus creating a knowledge pool.

The STTP was conducted over a span of five consecutive days and was divided into four sessions per day. The following were some of the important objectives of the STTP.

  • To provide theoretical & practical knowledge from fundamentals to advanced level in the digital image processing domain.
  • To explore the research potential in the field of digital image processing to the aspiring researchers.

There were total 25 participants constituting 09 faculty members from various disciplines of nearby engineering colleges along with 16 in-house FAMT faculty.

Inaugural Session:

The STTP was chaired by patron Dr. Kaushal Prasad (Principal, FAMT Ratnagiri), Keynote speaker Dr. Terence Johnson (HOD MCA and Associate Professor, FAMT Ratnagiri), Dr. S. V. Chougule (HoD E&TC and Convener), Mr. G. G. Bhide (HoD ETRX and Convener), Mr. S. D. Mainkar and Mr. A.B. Vartak (STTP Coordinators). All the participants and faculty members were  present during the inauguration of STTP. The STTP was inaugurated with Saraswati Pujan and prayer. Dr. S. V. Chougule (Convener) welcomed all and briefly introduced the theme of STTP, outline of one week program with a request to all participants to enrich their knowledge from this STTP by effective participation.

Dr. Kaushal Prasad (Principal, FAMT Ratnagiri and patron of STTP) gave the inaugural address sharing his views on the STTP. He appreciated the theme of STTP and congratulated the organizing team for planning and conducting such a program which indirectly benefits the society. Further, He conveyed his best wishes to the organizers for successful completion of the STTP. All the technical sessions were delivered thereafter as per the schedule by the experts from relevant fields. At the end of the STTP, an evaluation was conducted based on one week STTP.
