IPR Awareness Programme on Intellectual Property Rights for Creative Minds

Intellectual Property Right (IPR) Cell, FAMT, conducted an IPR Awareness programme titled Intellectual Property Rights for Creative Minds for Students, Staff and Faculty Members of FAMT, Ratnagiri and International Institute of Information Technology (I Square IT), Pune.

Mr Amol Ravindra Patil, NIPAM Officer, Examiner of Patents and Designs, Patent Office Mumbai, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India was a resource person for the programme. The programme was conducted online to create awareness about Intellectual Property Rights and to boost innovation and entrepreneurship development at the Institute. The programme was conducted on 1st April 2022 from 10.30 AM to 12.00 PM under the National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission, Government of India, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks.

The various topics covered in the programme are as follows,

  1. Background to Intellectual Property
  2. Need for IPR
  3. IPR – Patent, Industrial Designs, Copyrights, Trademarks
  4. Other IPS – Geographical Indications, Semiconductor Integrated Circuits Layout Design, Plant Variety, Trade Secrets
  5. Patent application filing process, fees, forms, examination process etc.
  6. Career opportunities in the IPR field

The programme was attended by a total of 217 participants. To make this programme successful, the Intellectual Property Right (IPR) Cell received support from Principal Dr Kaushal Prasad. To conduct this workshop smoothly in the institute, the program Co-Ordinator, Intellectual Property Right (IPR) Cell Committee Head and Dean of Research and Development took efforts.
