FAMT hosted a health seminar on stress management and medicine- free life on December 16, 2016. Dr. Swati Rahatage from National Education, Nagpur guided the faculty and staff members about various stress management techniques and therapies in a lively and enthusiastic manner. She also informed about various simple naturopathic measures which can reduce stress without undergoing any expensive medication.
Finolex Academy of Management and Technology, Ratnagiri has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with M/s Geometric, Pune on 19th November 2016 in association with Indian Society for Technical Education, India. As per this MOU, FAMT will get a latest DFX software developed by Geometric for training to its faculty and students.
As the foreign Universities are knocking the doors of India, our students must be made globally competent. On this backdrop, interaction with industry plays a vital role. Hence, FAMT is keen on doing MOUs and imparting state of the art knowledge to its students. Read More
CMAI conferred Best Engineering Institute Rural Area in Maharashtra Award to Finolex Academy of Management and Technology, Ratnagiri for the year 2016-2017. This award is instituted by CMAI Association of India.
Award conferred in National Maharashtra Education Summit & Awards 2016 on 4th November 2016 at Firoz Shah Mehta Auditorium, Mumbai University, Kalina campus Mumbai. Dr. Kaushal Prasad, Principal FAMT received the award from Honorable Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE.

An industrial visit was arranged for BE Electrical students to M/s Bharat Electricals, Ratnagiri on 1st October, 2016. This is a transformer repair workshop handling transformers up to 1MVA. In this visit, students have actually seen all the parts of transformer, their construction and their assembly. HV and LV coil manufacturing, Ovening and megger test were demonstrated to them. It provides an opportunity to plan, organize and engage in active learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom. Industrial Visits provide an insight into the real working environment of the industry. They help students to see their future place in the working world, helps to enhance their interpersonal skills and communications, helps to understand the do’s and don’ts of the industrial practice.
Electrical Engineering Department had organized one such industrial visit on the 1st of October 2016, to a 43MW Thermal Power Plant located at Finolex Industries Limited. This visit is intended for the students of Second Year Electrical Engineering which is a part of the curriculum for the subject Conventional and Non Conventional Power Generation. Read More
Electrical Engineering students Association (EESA) had organized a welcome party for Second year Electrical Engineering students on 26th sept. 2016. Moto of this event was to make the new comers familiar with teachers and culture of Electrical Dept. HOD of Electrical dept. Prof Tagare sir addressed the students and hoped that this event will create an healthy relation between juniors and seniors. Later Miss. Snehal Sawant from B.E Electrical and Mast. Shreyas Gavali from T.E Electrical were felicitated for their outstanding achievements in sports. Demo seminar regarding the same was conducted on 23rd of September 2016 at 4.00 pm in IT seminar hall. Mr.Maheshrakheja sir from Lemures technology conducted the same. Mr. Mahesh Rakhejasir ,awell known personality from Lemures technology, conducted several seminars before in more than 500 colleges. Ltd. on Application of ANSYS and computational modelling using C++ language under the guidance of Dr R.S Bhande, Head of Chemical Engineering Department. The Mechanical Engineering Students Association organized a “Book Fair Event”, on 1st September, 2016. Principal Dr. S. S. Goilkar inaugurated the event along with Head of the Department Dr. Kaushal Prasad, MESA Faculty Advisor Prof. V.S. Bagade and Prof. T. V. Kawatkar, MESA Head Mr. AtharvaPatil, Ladies Representative Ms. Priyanka Prabhu and Event Coordinator Mr. ShaileshPadalkar and Ms. SayaliDarekar. The purpose of this event was that the old book should be utilized by the students with affordable and less price. Blood Donation Camp
Blood Donation Camp was arranged in the academy on 31stAugust 2016 in association with Lions Club, Ratnagiri.Camp received a huge response from the students as well as the faculty members as 83 donors participated in the camp and donated blood. Mumbai University’s Inter-collegiate Cross Country Race was organized by Finolex Academy of Management and Technology on 29th Aug. 2016. Total 692 participants with 76 teams, participated in this race. It was arranged as a part of celebration of National Sports Day which is celebrated all over India on the occasion of birthday of the great hockey player Major Dhyanchand. The event was sponsored by Finolex Pipes Ltd.
Both boys’ and girls’ teams from different colleges participated in it. For girls, the distance of six kms. was kept as the target while for boys it was twelve kms. A Guest Lecture on ‘Latest Opportunities in Government Services’ was organized for Electrical Engineer by Electrical Engineering Students Association on 17th August, 2016. The guest of Honour was Mr.Bhavnesh Dhuri who himself got selected as deputy Tehsildar through MPSC. He elaborated about various Government Examinations such as IBPS, RRB, IES and MPSC. First year Engineering Students Association (FESA) organized essay writing and elocution competition to celebrate Seventy Years of Independence Day, on 13 August 2016 as per the instruction of Hon. Prakash Jawdekar, HRD Minister, Govt. of India. Fifty students participated in essay writing competition on the topics ‘Yaad Karo Kurbani’ and ‘Seventy Years of Independence’. 10 students participated in elocution competition on the topics ‘Life and Struggle of any one Freedom Fighter’ and ‘Today’s Freedom: Fruit of Sacrifice of Freedom Fighters’. Orientation program and welcome function was organized on 12th August 2016 to acquaint the newly arrived students with the academy, its atmosphere and procedures.
The program started with lamp-lighting and Saraswati devi poojan. Dr. S. S. Goilkar (Principal, FAMT) welcomed and guided the students through his address. Prof. Tejas V. Department of Electronics Engineering had organized a three days Workshop on ‘Embedded C Programming and Application Development’ for all Engineering students, during 6th, 7th and 8th August, 2016. The workshop is started at right time after inauguration by Prof. G. G. Bhide (HOD ETRX). Prof. A. R. Sutar and Prof. V. V. Nimbalkar conducted all Hands-on-Experiments successfully during the course of workshop. In this workshop covered interfacing and programming of various important modules such as LED, LCD, Keypad, DC Motor, Stepper Motor, RTC, Memory, GSM, GPS etc., which will be useful to the students for their future development and for enhancing technical ability.

Kadam and Prof. Leslie Fernandes on 16th July,17th July,23rd July and 24th July,2016 along with practical sessions held from 18th July to 22nd July and from 25th July to 29th July,2016. The workshop provides an opportunity to the students to understand the basics of PLC and have hands-on practical sessions which are an industrial pre-requisite for aspiring electrical engineers. A two day’s workshop on Energy auditing was organized in department of Electrical Engineering on 14th And 15th January 2016. A total of 73 Students from Final Year participated in the workshop. So as to bridge the gap between demand and supply of energy and to reduce the environmental effects, the subject of Energy Conservation is gaining momentum. To find out the opportunities of energy saving, Energy audit is done in Industries. So as to create awareness amongst Electrical Engineering students, a workshop was organized. Electrical students play their Social responsibility through series of awareness programs. Electrical Engineering department celebrated Electrical safety week by delivering lectures in nearby schools. It received huge response from all the schools. Lectures were arranged in three schools wherein 120 students and faculty members attended the program in Navnirman College, 150 in Jaguste High school and 90 in Khedshi High school on 13th and 15th January, 2016. Finolex Academy of Management and Technology, Ratnagiri organized annual extension festival UDAAN-2016 along with Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension, Mumbai University on dated 9 January 2016. In this event 15 colleges with 250 students from Ratnagiri district were participated. Two competitions like street play and poster competition was held. A four day on Basics of Programmable Logic Controllers is being conducted by Prof. P, J. Kadam and Prof. Leslie Fernandes of Electrical Engineering Department from 6 September 2015. Team Mavrick of FAMT successfully Completed the event of BAJA 2015 held at Pithampur, Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The team comprised of total 25 students from B.E. and T.E. mechanical engineering. The team captain was Shailesh Sutar. The first round of the event was the virtual round where the team was supposed to present a Computer Aided Model of the All Terrain vehicle which was held at Ahmedabad, Gujrat.
