UDYAMITA PROTSAHAN SAMMELAN’

‘Udyamita Protsahan Sammelan’ a program to encourage and inculcate a culture of entrepreneurship among students was organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering on Friday, 12th August 2022. A total of 112 students and 11 faculty members benefited from the Program.

Shri. Prashant Deshpande, Member of Central Sensor Board, GOI, Electrical Engineer, and an entrepreneur running a Solar business was the Chief Guest of the program. Shri Hrishikesh Kondekar and Shri Manish Apte, entrepreneurs and alumni of FAMT, were guests of the program.

Hrishikesh Kondekar, BE Mechanical, started a company “Sourmandal” in the field of solar energy in May 2018. He shared his story of starting the company. He discussed that there were hurdles in the path of becoming an entrepreneur. He overcame those with learning and consistent belief in himself and today he became a successful entrepreneur. He encouraged the students to think about why one should become an entrepreneur rather than a job-seeker.

Manish Apte, BE Electrical, owner of “Ratnagreen Techno Services” Ratnagiri. This company works in the field of fabrication of Compost Units, Biogas Units, and Organic waste disposal machines. This company was established in the Year 2019. He expanded his business and added a pet bottle recycling plant in May 2021 to his venture. He shared how this business concept came into his mind and how it has turned into reality. He discussed common challenges faced by every entrepreneur viz. lack of finance, space for a workshop, manpower constraints, and the ways to mitigate them. He said that you need courage and consistent efforts to run a business.

Shri Deshpande shared his thought that India can become self-reliant if a culture of entrepreneurship is imbibed from a young age. He emphasized the need for entrepreneurs in India, with statistics. Shri Deshpande is a valued member of “Swavalambi Bharat Abhiyaan” which intends to promote the awareness of entrepreneurship among youth. This Abhiyan aims to educate and motivate the youth to become Job creators rather than job seekers. With the story of Shri Vivekanand, he reiterated the need to make India Atmanirbhar and overcome the challenge of unemployment. In the end, Shri Hrishikesh Kondekar was felicitated by Shri Deshpande and Shri Manish was felicitated by Dr Chawda by offering them a momento.

This program was started by explaining the motive of the Program. Dr J. J. Mane IEDC in charge shared the motive. Dr Sandeep Chawda, HoD, Electrical Engineering Department welcomed the guests and offered a flower bouquet. Prof. M N Tagare was the Anchor of the program. All the department faculty members helped to make this event successful.

The program ended with a vote of thanks. Many students expressed their satisfaction with the conduction of the event.
