One Day Bridge Course for Mechanical Engineering Students

The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a “One Day Bridge Course for Second Year Mechanical Students” on 11th July, 2019 for the second year Mechanical Engineering students. The objective of the course was to familiarize the newly admitted S.E students about prerequisites of Machine Tool practices, Materials Technology and Engineering Mathematics.

The course began with an introductory speech by Prof. A.S. Yekane and Prof. G. J. Abhyankar about the objective of the course. The course was conducted in three sessions. In first session, Prof. Amar Yekane and Prof. Gayatri Abhyankar enlightened the students about the importance and applications of various Machine tools in context with the subject Production Process I. Mr. R. V. Utekar showed the practical demonstration on Arc Welding set up. Mr. R. R. Bhosale showed practical demonstration on lathe and grinder by means of various useful jobs. Mr. A. A. Lingayat showed the demonstration ob radial drilling machine, shaper, slotter and milling machine. In second session, Prof. Jayesh Anavkar, Prof. Harshal Salvi and Prof. Sagar Sakharkar highlighted the fundamentals related to Material Technology. In the final session, Prof. H. N. Kelkar taught the basics of Engineering Mathematics with applications in Mechanical Engineering.
