Mandvi Beach Clean-up Drive
The Information Technology Department, Finolex Academy of Management and Technology (FAMT), Ratnagiri is committed to sensitizing the students towards social problems and needs along with good technical knowledge. In line with this, the Information Technology Department organized Mandvi Beach Cleanup Drive in association with the ACM students Chapter, ITSA and DLLE on 21st January 2023. Removing trash from beaches will not just ensure a beautiful coastline but help maintain a healthy marine ecosystem.
30 students and 01 Faculty member of the Information Technology Department participated in the beach cleaning drive. The students cleaned garbage on Mandvi beach including plastic bags, wrappers, plastic etc. Besides, they also interacted with the visitors and public requesting to maintain cleanliness and avoid the use of plastic items which was the major source of the waste collected. The students from SE and TE classes showed interest and requested to organize such social events often. The program started with a pledge for cleanliness followed by the cleaning activity. The event was initiated by Head of IT, Prof. Dr Vinayak A. Bharadi along with Prof. Ashish B.Vartak as the event coordinator.
