Industry Expert Lecture of Dr. Ashish Tendulkar

The department of MCA organized an industry expert lecture on 31st October 2019. The resource person for the expert lecture was Dr. Ashish Tendulkar who is a Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Specialist at Google, G pay. He has completed his Ph.D. from IIT Bombay and was working as an Assistant Professor at IIT, Madras. He has a total experience of 11 years post Ph.D. in multiple domains and was working as a Vice President (Data Science) for Reliance Industries and Principal Data Scientist at Media.Net before joining Google.

The expert lecture was based on Machine Learning which is said to be the technology of the future and is going to be one of the most prominent areas from employment and career point of view.

The lecture began with a welcome address by Prof. Rahul V. Kotawadekar. Prof. Harshada Salvi, I/c HOD then introduced Dr. Ashish Tendulkar, followed by his felicitation by I/c Principal, Dr. Sanjay Kulkarni. Dr. Sanjay Kulkarni addressed the students and asked them to take the opportunity to learn new things.

Dr. Ashish Tendulkar started with the basics of Machine Learning, fundamental concepts, and explained the different types of machine learning like supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning. He also explained some of the basic algorithms that are used in Machine Learning and the ways to implement them.

The lecture continued with the demonstration of Tensor Flow which is an end-to-end open source Machine Learning platform. Dr. Ashish Tendulkar demonstrated the implementation of some basic clustering and classification techniques with the help of tensor flow.

A total of 42 students from MCA departments attended the expert lecture coordinated by Prof. Kishor R. Bhosale. The lecture concluded with a vote of thanks.
