Induction Program for FYMCA

Two days Induction Program for FYMCA was organized by the Department of Master of Computer Application from 21st November 2022 to 22nd November 2022.

The objective of the induction program was to integrate the new students into the institution and make them understand the systems and procedures followed by the institution. It will help them to inculcate in them the culture of the institution, and help them build bonds with other students and the faculty members.

Day 1:

Prof. Harshada U. Salvi welcomed the principal, faculty members, and students. She gave a brief introduction and the objectives and other details of the induction program to the audience. The program was inaugurated by the honourable Principal Dr Kaushal Prasad, with a keynote address to the students of First-year MCA. He welcomed all the students and congratulated them for choosing the MCA course to build their careers. He shared a brief history of the institute and how this institute was established by Late Shri. P. P. Chhabria with the sole objective of providing quality education at an affordable cost to the students of the Konkan belt. He explained in detail about the career opportunities, infrastructure and facilities for the development of the students.

Mr Gajanan D. Targaonkar, the Registrar, shared detailed information about the scholarship schemes of government, private as well as offered by the institute along with the procedure to apply, documents required, etc. He on behalf of his team expressed their readiness to help the students in completing their work.

Prof. Tejas V. Joshi, Head of the MCA Department introduced the Department of MCA and explained the syllabus and examination scheme. He encouraged the students to attend the lectures regularly and study hard.  He also shared about the systems and mechanisms of the department to ensure smooth teaching-learning.

Prof. Kishor R. Bhosale, the Head Training and Placement Cell, gave a presentation on T&P activities and placement details. He encouraged students to participate in various workshops and industry training programs organized by T&P Cell to develop their technical and communication skills.

Prof. Harshada U. Salvi presented a vote of thanks to all the dignitaries, faculty members and students.

Day 2:

An Online Yoga Session was organized. Prof. Giri S. Kulkarni instructed students to perform yoga and its importance in the daily life of students. He explained how yoga can help to reduce stress, improve concentration, improve posture and strengthen the core.

The Department also organized industry interaction with our prominent alumna Ms Sayali Sapre, Senior Consultant at RIA Advisory. She guided students on becoming a programmer, preparation for an interview, the opportunities for Java programmer and the current industry trends and technologies.

Prof. Harshada U. Salvi, Mentorship Committee Department Coordinator, in her interaction, explained the benefits of the Mentorship Program. She explained how mentor-mentee healthy interaction and counselling motivates the students in studies and solving their academic and personal problems.

Prof. Ravindra V. Kerkar shared information about the Student Association of MCA. He shared the history of the Student Association of MCA and various events that were organized. Creative and Cultural Activities were also conducted during this program.Prof. Ravindra V. Kerkar did the anchoring of the program.
