Inauguration of IETE-SF

Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering established an Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, A Student Forum. It was inaugurated online in the presence of Dr Mukesh D. Patil, Chairman, IETE Navi Mumbai, Dr Baban Rindhe, Ex Chairman, IETE Navi Mumbai, Mr Sanjay A. Patil, Secretory, IETE Navi Mumbai and Dr Kaushal Prasad, Principal-FAMT on 20 April 2022.

ISF-Faculty Coordinator Prof. Saurabh Athalye welcomed and introduced the dignitaries. Dr S. V. Chougule, Head of E&TC department, briefed about the objectives for formation of the IETE-SF as follows:

  1. Improving the standard of Engineering Education
  2. Counseling the students in the emerging new opportunities
  3. Encouraging and motivating the outside Classroom studies /Workshops/projects/Seminars
  4. Increasing the student base and corporate membership of IETE

The guests, who are the active office bearers of IETE, explained the culture, protocols and activities of the student forum. Dr Kaushal Prasad congratulated the Student Forum team and wished them success. The crux of the guiding words of all the guests was as follows:

The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), founded in 1953,  is one of the leading professional societies in India. With the great vision of the founder and subsequent heads and stalwarts, who were leading light of the Institution IETE, have been devoted and contributing to the advancement of Science and Technology in the fields of Electronics, Communication Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology and other related subjects. The major focus of IETE is to provide engineering education i. e. Degree and Diploma level certifications to the younger generation at an affordable cost. IETE has got two streams of the student base. The first wing is the students of alma-mater, IETE, viz, the pass outs of DIPIETE, AMIETE and ALCCS students. An Alumni Association was formed in 2013 and the second one is the Engineering students studying in Engineering Colleges and Polytechnics across the country. This wing is the ISF (IETE Students Forum). More than 550 live ISFs are functioning in India today with a student membership of more than 60,000.

The function was ended with a vote of thanks proposed by the IETE-SF faculty coordinator, Mr Saurabh Athalye.
