Alumni Interaction session on Career Opportunities in Cyber Security

An Alumni Interaction session on ‘Career Opportunities in Cyber Security’ was organized by the Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering department on 20 February 2021. Ms Kavita Mishra (FAMT, EXTC alumni) from Qualys (A security-Based company having its headquarters in California, US), delivered a session for T.E. and B.E EXTC students through Google Meet.

This session was attended by 43 students of T.E. and B.E. EXTC classes. The session helped students to know about what Cyber Security is and what opportunities are there for the Cyber Security experts in the industry.  The resource person explained the role of a Cyber Security engineer, the requisite skill set, ways to build that skill set, which are different companies recruiting Cyber Security experts, where to search for these jobs and overall how to prepare for a career in this field.

The session was superintended by the Head of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Department, /Dr. S. V. Chougule along with Prof. Mansi Kolwankar and Prof. Saurabh Athalye as the Departmental coordinators. The participants showed intense interest in attending such sessions in future too.
