A webinar on Electrical Engineering-Orientation towards Industry Solutions

To give insight into the different Electrical projects and various activities involved therein, the Electrical Engineering Department organized a Webinar on Electrical Engineering- Orientation towards Industry Solutions on Sunday, 1st August 2021. The department alumnus Mrs Rupali Chavan, Sr. Manager Electrical, Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions, Mumbai was the speaker.  A total of 83 students were present for the program alongwith Dr. Sandeep Chawada, HoD and the faculty members.

Prof. M. N. Tagare welcomed and introduced Mrs Rupali Chavan. Mrs Rupali has passed BE in Electrical from FAMT in 2005. She is working in ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions (formerly Uhde India) since 2013. She has worked in different companies and her total experience is 16 years. She has worked in sectors like fertilizers, petrochemicals, refineries and oil and gas etc. She has expertise in many software like ETAP, Auto CAD, COMOS etc.

During her presentation, Mrs Rupali shared information on different types and nature of projects, standards followed interdisciplinary coordination. The typical component within the plants like switchyard, substation, pipe rack, lighting and consumers were thoroughly discussed.  She further, elaborated the electrical activities like Design calculations, SLD, layout, MTO, 3d modeling procurements etc. during the execution of the project. In the last part of her presentation, the consumer list, different voltage levels, typical SLD and its components along with layout of substations were discussed. Finally, she answered questions on motor starters, use of DOL, its ratings and uses, substation earthing, lightning earthing in detail.

The students of TE and BE Electrical were invited to the program. Prof. Jayant Mane, Prof. Priya Potdar and Prof. M. N. Tagare coordinated the program.  Prof. Priya Potdar expressed a vote of thanks. Sandeep S. Kulkarni, B.E. Electrical, designed the web poster of the event
