IIC FAMT

IIC FAMT

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at Finolex Academy of Management and Technology (FAMT), Ratnagiri, is a dedicated cell established under the guidelines of the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC). It serves as a platform to foster a systematic culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students and faculty members by bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world problem-solving.

Objectives of IIC at FAMT
The primary goal of the IIC is to transform the institution into a vibrant local innovation ecosystem. Key objectives include:
  • Promote Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Organize workshops, hackathons, and idea competitions to encourage students to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes.
  • Mentor and Guide Students: Provide a platform for mentoring sessions by successful entrepreneurs and industry experts to inspire budding innovators.
  • Establish Pre-incubation Facilities: Create a supporting mechanism within the institute for scouting ideas and providing pre-incubation support for student-led startups.
  • Develop Cognitive Abilities: Focus on enhancing the technical and design thinking skills of technology students to help them handle socially relevant projects.
  • Collaborate and Network: Build partnerships with industries, incubation centres, and national entrepreneurship organisations to provide practical exposure.
  • Support Intellectual Property Rights (IPR): Educate and assist students and faculty in patent filing, registering copyrights and understanding the importance of protecting intellectual property.
