Industry Expert Session on Advanced Techniques for 4G Deployment and Beyond
On 14th October 2026, the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering organized an Industry Expert Session titled “Advanced Techniques for 4G Deployment and Beyond” for BE EXTC. The session was delivered by Mr. Ravi Bhargava, Managing Director, Vishal Telecommunications Pvt. Ltd. Mumbai.
The event commenced with a welcome address by HOD Dr. Sharada V. Chougule, who welcomed the resource person and introduced him to the students. She expressed her sincere gratitude to him for sharing his valuable industry expertise and knowledge with the students.
During the session, Mr. Ravi Bhargava addressed the participants on advanced techniques related to 4G deployment and the developments beyond 4G. The session provided students with an opportunity to gain insights from an industry expert and learn about current practices and advancements in mobile communication.
The session was conducted online through Google Meet. The following points were discussed by the resource person:
- Multi-antenna Techniques: Smart antennas, Multiple-input, multiple-output systems.
- Cognitive radio: Architecture, spectrum sensing.
- Software Defined Radio (SDR): Components and Applications.
- Introduction to 5G network and technologies used in 5G such as small cell concept.
The session also included an interactive discussion at the end, in which students actively interacted with the resource person and asked questions to clarify their doubts. Mr. Ravi Bhargava addressed their queries and provided valuable insights, helping students gain a better understanding of the concepts and their practical applications.The session helped students to connect the academic learning of mobile communication with industry perspectives.
At the end of the session, Prof. Mansi S. Kolwankar proposed the vote of thanks. She expressed gratitude to Mr. Ravi Bhargava for sharing his expertise in the telecommunication field.
