Seminar on Career Opportunities with IBM SkillsBuild
The First Year Engineering Students’ Association (FESA) organized an online seminar titled “Career Opportunities with IBM SkillsBuild Platform” from 02 January to 05 January 2026, for the First Year Engineering students. The seminar raised students’ awareness of emerging career opportunities in the IT and technology sectors and introduced them to the IBM SkillsBuild platform for skill development.
During the session, Ms. Ann Kurain from IBM SkillBuild, the resource person, explained the importance of developing industry-relevant digital skills and highlighted various career pathways available in the technology sector. Students were introduced to the features of the IBM SkillsBuild platform, which provides access to several online learning courses and certifications.
As part of the practical session, the resource person guided students step by step through the registration process and helped them enroll in a course on the platform. FE Students registered themselves on the IBM SkillsBuild platform. Students were encouraged to complete the selected course during the session itself. By the end of the activity, many students had completed the course and received certificates for their achievement. A total of 400 students participated in the seminar.
The seminar proved to be highly informative and engaging. It motivated students to make use of online learning platforms to enhance their technical knowledge and improve their career prospects through continuous skill development. Prof. Saba Bandri assisted Prof. Nandhini Ayyadurai, the coordinator of FESA, in making the program successful.
