Industrial Visit to Aboobaker Ice and Cold Storage, MIDC Mirjole, Ratnagiri
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Finolex Academy of Management and Technology (FAMT), Ratnagiri, organised an Industrial Visit to Aboobaker Ice and Cold Storage, MIDC Mirjole, Ratnagiri, for the Third-Year Mechanical Engineering students of Divisions A and B. The visit was conducted on Wednesday, 8th April, with Division A attending at 3:15 p.m. and Division B at 4:00 p.m.
This visit was arranged as part of the HVACR Laboratory Course (MEL603) to provide students with practical exposure to refrigeration systems used in industry. During the visit, the students were introduced to the overall layout and functioning of the ice plant. The operators of Aboobaker Ice and Cold Storage, Mr. Aman and Mr. Salik, explained the complete refrigeration process and the working of the system in detail. Students observed the refrigeration cycle and various components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, and expansion devices.
