Finolex Triumphs with Magnificent Entry into the Purushottam Grand Finale for the Fourth Consecutive Year
Ratnagiri: FAMT students once again left an indelible mark on the stage of the Purushottam Karandak. Delivering a remarkable performance in the Ratnagiri division of the Purushottam Karandak Preliminary Round 2026, FAMT Drama Team entered the grand finale for the fourth consecutive year.
The FAMT’s play, ‘Varebuva’, secured Third Place on the strength of its impactful writing, stellar acting, and captivating presentation. Notably, there was a shower of awards as well.
Swanand Shenai was honoured with the Best Writing Award for the play’s powerful script. Meanwhile, Vishal Surve etched his name on the Acting Excellence Male Award for his strong portrayal of the character ‘Pawan’ in ‘Varebuva’. Adding another feather to FAMT’s cap, Prarthana Sawant received the Encouragement Award for Acting for her role as ‘Dipu’ in the play ‘Sadafuli’.
By making a formidable sweep of awards, including Third Place in the play category, Best Writing, Acting Excellence, and the Encouragement Award for Acting, FAMT’s student artists showcased their stellar acting prowess and theatrical preparation in the Ratnagiri division.
Securing a grand-finale spot for four consecutive years is no coincidence; it reflects FAMT students’ consistent hard work and deep passion for the theatre. Theatre enthusiasts are now eagerly watching to see how high this whirlwind journey of ‘Varebuva’ will soar in the grand finale.
