On February 19, 2026, the Department of Electrical Engineering at FAMT hosted a vibrant and grand celebration of Shiv Jayanti, honouring the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 150 students, successfully fostering a deep sense of patriotism, cultural pride, and discipline across the campus.

Event Highlights & Proceedings:

The celebration was marked by a series of traditional and high-energy activities designed to pay tribute to the Maratha Empire’s legendary founder:

  • Mashal Daud (Torch Run): The day commenced with a symbolic run from the historic Ratna Durga Fort to the FAMT campus.
  • Procession: A spirited Mashal Rally was initiated from the college main gate, accompanied by a traditional Dhol-Tasha performance that energized the atmosphere.
  • Cultural Showcase: A stirring Powada (ballad) was performed by college students.
  • Ceremonial Conclusion: The event concluded with a formal Pooja and Aarti, allowing the gathering to pay their respects to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s legacy.
