One-day Workshop on “Demonstration of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems”

The Department of Mechanical Engineering successfully organized a one-day workshop on “Demonstration of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) Systems” on Wednesday, 22 April, for third-year Mechanical Engineering students. The workshop aimed to provide practical exposure and enhance students’ understanding of refrigeration and air conditioning concepts.

The session was conducted in three batches to ensure effective participation. Students from Division A and Division B attended the workshop as per the scheduled timings. A few students from First Year Mechanical Engineering also attended the sessions. The program focused on live demonstrations of RAC systems, enabling students to observe the working of key components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, and expansion devices.During the workshop, students gained hands-on understanding of the refrigeration cycle and its real-time applications. The demonstration helped bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical implementation, making the concepts clearer and more engaging.

The workshop received an enthusiastic response from students, who actively participated and interacted during the sessions. Feedback collected indicated that the demonstration-based learning approach significantly improved their conceptual clarity. The workshop was coordinated by Prof. V. S. Bagade, Prof. S. U. Mayekar, and Prof. S. S. Gurav. Lab Assistant Mr. Anand Nhivekar was also present during the session and provided valuable support in the coordination and smooth conduct of the workshop.

The Principal, Dr Kaushal Prasad, and Vice Principal, Dr Milind Yadav, along with the Head of the Department (Mechanical Engineering) Dr Milind Kirkire, were present during the workshop and felicitated the resource person. The Department of Mechanical Engineering, FAMT, expresses its sincere gratitude to Mr. J. A. Jaygade from J. J. Engineering Works, MIDC Mirjole, Ratnagiri, for his valuable guidance, support, and cooperation in making the workshop informative and successful.
