IT Students Held Bhatye Beach Clean-up Drive
The Information Technology department and Finolex Academy of Management and Technology (FAMT), Ratnagiri, is committed to sensitising students to social problems and needs, as well as to good technical knowledge. In line with this, the Information Technology Department organised the Bhatye Beach Cleanup Drive in association with the ACM students’ chapter on 28th March 2026. Removing trash from beaches will not just ensure a beautiful coastline, but also help maintain a healthy marine ecosystem
The program started with a pledge for cleanliness, followed by a cleaning activity. 10 students of the Information Technology Department participated in the beach cleaning drive. These students cleaned garbage on Bhatye beach, including plastic bags, wrappers, plastic bottles, etc. Besides, they also interacted with visitors and the public, requesting to maintain cleanliness and avoid the use of plastic items, which was the major source of the waste collected.
The students from SE and TE classes showed interest and requested such social events every year. The event was initiated by HOD IT, Prof. Dr Vinayak A. Bharadi, along with Prof. Ashish B.Vartak as the event coordinator.
