ACES Celebrated Teachers’ & Engineers’ Day
The Association of Chemical Engineering Students (ACES) celebrated Teachers’ & Engineers’ Day on 11th September 2026 to express gratitude and appreciation towards teachers for their valuable contribution to students’ academic and personal development and to acknowledge the significant role of engineers in society.
Teachers’ Day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, former President of India, on 5th September, while Engineers’ Day is observed in honour of Sir M. Visvesvaraya, one of India’s eminent engineers and statesmen. The program commenced with the lighting of the lamp as a tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The faculty members were felicitated and presented with small plants as tokens of gratitude from the students. As part of the celebration, faculty members participated in an interactive activity in which they spoke on topics assigned to them by the students.
The event was hosted by Mr. Aaqil Gaonkhadkar and Ms. Anchal Palav, students of the Chemical Engineering Department. Ms. Vaishnavi Prajapati, a third-year student, delivered a speech dedicated to the teachers, expressing gratitude for their guidance and support, while Ms. Sanika Shedge, a third-year student, shared her views on Engineers’ Day and highlighted the role of engineers in technological and societal development.
The event was successfully coordinated by Prof. R. K. Marag, ACES Faculty Coordinator, under the guidance of Dr. N. G. Kanse, Head of the Department. Mr. Hrishikesh Chavan, a final-year student, proposed the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to all the faculty members and students for their participation.
