Career Guidance Session by E&TC Department
The Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering at FAMT, Ratnagiri, organized a Career Guidance Session for Second Year (SE) students on March 23, 2026. The session aimed to orient students toward the professional landscape early in their academic journey, helping them align their current studies with long-term career goals.
The session was conducted by Dr. Saurabh S. Athalye, who provided a comprehensive overview of the Training & Placement (T&P) activities at both the college and department levels. He detailed the various career opportunities available specifically for E&TC engineers, including roles in core Electronics, Telecommunications, and IT sectors. Students were also briefed on the different types of recruitment drives they will face in the coming years, ranging from on-campus placements to off-campus pool drives.
A significant portion of the session was dedicated to the “Triad of Employability”: Academic Projects, Internships, and Certifications. Dr. Athalye emphasized how early involvement in technical projects and obtaining domain-specific certifications significantly enhances a student’s professional profile. The session also addressed the importance of lifelong learning and understanding the global impact of engineering roles.
The interactive session saw active participation from 48 students, who engaged in discussions regarding industry trends and skill development. The event was organized under the guidance of HoD Dr. Sharada V. Chougule. This initiative successfully provided students with a clear roadmap for their transition from academic learners to industry-ready professionals.
