An Educational Visit was organized at Hope Foundation’s Finolex Academy of Management and Technology, Ratnagiri on 20th December, 2018 for 12th standard (Science) students of Dr. A. K. M. Naik Junior College, Ratnagiri. Total 37 Students visited the FAMT campus. The visit aimed at enlightening them about the basic sciences and its application in Engineering.
In the morning session, Prof. Milind S. Yadav (Associate Professor and HoD, MED) delivered a seminar on ‘Engineering as a Career Path after 12th ‘ and briefed about different branches of Engineering and job opportunities after Engineering. Dr. Kaushal Prasad, Principal, also interacted with the students and discussed the need of Engineering in human life withexamples.
After interactive session, the students in group of 19 visited various laboratories in all departments. The students visited the Center of Excellence in IT along with Database Lab, Multimedia Lab, and Programming Lab. In Chemical Engineering Department, the students visited Mass Transfer Operations Lab, Instrumentation and Process Control lab, Fluid flow Lab as well as heat transfer operations lab. At the end of morning session, they visited Mechanical Engineering Department and Workshop Facility wherein the students observed Automobile Lab, Kinematic of Machinery Lab, Internal Combustion Engine Lab, Fluid Mechanics Lab, and Mechatronics Lab. The projects of B.E students were also showcased during the visit. The students visited Carpentry shop, Welding and Fitting Shop and Machining Shop in the workshop facility.
