A Voters’ Awareness Programme titled ‘Yuwa Samwad’ was conducted at FAMT, by Cultural Cell in collaboration with District Election Office and Nehru Yuwa Kendra, Ratnagiri on 10th February, 2018.
Prof. Prakash Naik (Head-Arts Faculty, S. P. Hegshetye College, Ratnagiri), Mr. Kundalik Kambale (President- Gramjeevan Aadhar Samajsewi Sanstha), Ms. Ashwini Kamble (Representative- Nehru Yuwa Kendra, Ratnagiri), Dr. Kaushal Prasad ( Principal- FAMT, Ratnagiri) and Prof. D. D. Joshi (Faculty In-charge- Student affairs) marked their valuable presence for the awareness programme.
Prof. Prakash Naik, as the Chief Speaker of the event, guided the students as the voters of India. He made the students aware about the strength of their votes and their roles and responsibilities as the voters. While guiding the students, Principal Dr. Kaushal Prasad highlighted the importance of democracy and role of today’s youth in the democratic India.
Nehru Yuwa Kendra also awarded the certificates of appreciation to the winners of University Level Cultural Competitions held under University Youth Festival. Prof D. M. Bapat (Head- Cultural Committee) anchored the programme and Prof. D. D. Joshi (Faculty In-charge- Student Affairs) presented the vote of thanks. Around 150 students were present for the awareness programme.
