“Introduction to Speech Technology: Automatic Speech Recognition and Text-to-Speech Synthesis”

A one day Seminar on Introduction to Speech Technology: Automatic Speech Recognition and Text-to-Speech Synthesis was conducted by the department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering on 31stJanuary, 2018. The seminar was coordinated by Prof. V. D. Chavan and conducted by Mr. Pranaw Kumar, Senior Scientist C-DAC, Mumbai and Mr. Amol Bole, Project Engineer C-DAC, Mumbai.

Dr. S. V. Chougule, HOD, EXTC, welcomed and introduced resource persons. This seminar covered various fundamental concepts along with live demonstrations which include Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) and Text-to-speech Synthesis (TTS).

This programme helped students to get insight into the field of speech processing and served following objectives:

  • To get acquainted with basics of Speech and Audio Signal Processing
  • To learn and understand mechanisms of Automatic speech recognition (ASR) and text-to-speech synthesis (TTS).
