About Library
Finolex Academy Library is an ocean of knowledge and it occupies a place of pride in FAMT and is an essential component of the institute’s outstanding education mission. Finolex Academy’s library is need-based, qualitative and has up-to-date collection of books and journals that are catalogued to meet the information needs of students and faculty members. . It is also facilitated with reference services, competative examination section, a Book Bank facility to the students belonging to SC/ST categories and Current awareness service. It offers online information retrieval facility through a 100 mbps leased line connection. It provides computerized catalogue search service through OPAC (Online Public Access catalogue), Multimedia Library facility (Ekalavya Self Learning Centre) and E-journals and E-books facility and online question paper facility.

Timings
The library is kept open throughout the year, except Ist, IIIrd & Vth Saturday, Sundays and public holidays.
Monday To Saturday 9.00 am to 5.15 p.m.
During the examinations – 2nd and 4th Saturdays – 10 am to 5:30 pm Sunday – 10 am to 1:30 pm
Seating Arrangement
The reading room and stack room area are placed adjacent to each other so as to facilitate the users, for the use of library material.
Arrangement of Books
Books in the library have been classified according to the Dewey Decimal Classification scheme. There is a partial open access to the books on the shelves. A detailed plan showing the arrangement of books on the shelves in the catalogue marked Subject Index.

Librarian’s Message
Central library provides the resources and study environment needed for teaching-learning community.
It preserves wonderful treasures ranging from Books, Print Journals, Dissertation/Thesis, Newspaper, audio visual material, e-journals, NPTEL Video lectures for its users. Remote access to all e-contents subscribed by Library is provided through internet in Campus.
Library staffs happily assist all users in finding books and journals, searching online resources and accessing other facilities.

Facilities
Library Services
Membership
Every bonafide student of the college is entitled to become a member of the library. Library Borrower ticket is issued to every student.
Circulation
Open access system is practiced. Borrowing of books is allowed only to the registered library members against their membership card. They can borrow books from stack room as per their borrowing privilege. Books from the Reference section are not allowed and must be refereed in the library only.
1) Every regular student of FAMT is allowed to borrow 5 books for the period of 15 days.
2) Every Faculty member of FAMT is allowed to borrow 10 books per Semester
3) Every office staff, non teaching staff & library staff of FAMT is allowed to borrow 05 books per Semester.
4) Reference books, bound volumes of journals, encyclopaedia, Handbooks, Directories, Directories, Atlases, Manuals, standards are not for issue.
Issue / Return Timing – Monday To Saturday – 10.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.
Overnight Issue Facility
Members can barrow 2 book against identity card after 4.30 pm & return the same on next day before 9.30 am.
Reservation Facility
Books which are in circulation can be reserved. The students who desire to make use of this facility should enter the details in the reservation slip kept for this purpose. Books which are to be reserved will not be renewed and reissued. The person who makes the reservation should note the expected date of return and claim the reserved book within two days after the return. Otherwise the reservation will remain cancelled.
Reference
Reference books like Encyclopaedias, Dictionaries, Handbooks, Yearbooks, Rare collections etc. and one copy of all the books in the general stack are kept for the students, staff and other users to refer within the library.
Book Bank
Book Bank books are made available separately for SC/ST Students, and Books are issued for the period of one semester to the students belonging to SC & ST. Eligible students may apply for books from the special collection as per the schedule announced by the library.
Competitive Examination Section
A separate competitive examination section having 919 different types of competitive examination books like GATE, GRE, Toffel, UPSC & MPSC, CAT etc is available in library for the final year students who wish to prepare for different types of competitive examination.
News Paper Clipping Service
The current articles of various competitive examinations published in newspapers are displayed on library notice board.
Facility to Divyang Student
- Books are provided in classroom/laboratory as per demand of respective student.
- Book bank facility is provided To Divyang Student from general book collections.
Internet Service
Internet facility is available to the student & staff for e-resources access, e-mail and web browsing.
Digital Library
An e-library Wing is being dunned in our library containing the facilities such as Springer, Videeya Engineering Collection, NDL, & NPTEL. Digital library or an Electronic Library is a focused collection of digital objects that can include e-journals, e-books, audio visual materials etc., stored as electronic media.
E-journals & E-books – The e-library section in the college library is a beneficiary of Springer Three Subject Collection (510 e-journals & 934 e-books ) & Videeya Enginering Collection ( 36 books titles & 108 Volumes).
NDL-National Digital Library of India( NDL) is an all digital library that stores information (meta data) about different types of digital contents including books, articles, videos, audios, thesis and other educational materials relevant for users from varying educational levels and capabilities. It provides a single window search facility to access digital contents currently existing in India as well as other digital sources under single umbrella.
NPTEL-NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning), is a joint venture of the IITs and IISc, funded by the Ministry of Education (MoE) Government of India, and was launched in 2003. Initially started as a project to take quality education to all corners of the country. Library provided NPTEL video lectures link (Branch, Semester & Subject wise) through library webpage, which will be useful for teacher training and through them improve the quality of students.
Multimedia
Library has the facility to search CD-ROMs. There is a good collection of CD-ROMs.
WebOPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue)
We have a special facility called web WebOPAC which allows the user to search the library’s holdings. A user can access the bibliographic details of books from the web OPAC.
Online Question Paper
Library provides an online facility of previous year question paper to its users. The question papers are available on the library website in pdf format.
Plagiarism Checking Facility
Library provided Plagiarism Checking Facility using plagiarismcheckerx 2019 Business software.
Periodicals
The library subscribes 56 periodicals of which 48 are journals and around 8 are related academic magazines. Previous volumes of the journals are also available for use. Overnight reference is also allowed on request. career magazines are also available for casual reading.
Current Awareness Services
Under CAS System following Services can be used:
- Displaying new arrivals – books – on the New Arrivals rack.
- Displaying list of new arrivals and list of Journals and Periodicals on the notice-board
Information Literacy Program
Library orientation and User education program for our students as a part of induction
program. Library orientation is to introduce users to facilities and resources in the library, to develop library skills, to develop students into independent users and learners in the library.
User education is one of the important services of the library each year for new entrants into the college library, which includes:

- How to use e-resources?
- How to locate a particular book?
- Shelf arrangements, Classification

About Digital Library:
A Digital library is a collection of digital objects, such as books, magazines, audio recordings, video recordings and other documents that are accessible electronically. A digital library is an online platform that offers a variety of digital educational resources to support learning and teaching. The Digital Library is a part of the Central Library and acts as an electronic resource for academic knowledge in all the streams the college offers.
Our Central Library is the institutional member of Springer Nature Three Subject Collection e-journals & e-books, Videeya Engineering E-book Collection, .National Digital Library of India.
At our Digital Library, students get access to 510 e-journals & 934 e-books of springer nature three subject collection, 36 titles & 108 volumes of Videeya Engineering E-Book Collection, over 4000+ video courses developed under the NPTEL Programme, Online Previous year university question paper & Project Report. It also gives students and faculty unrestricted access to open-access journals and magazine, study material, courseware, patent, competitive examination open access material, Thesis & Dissertations etc. The Digital Library features 11 terminals with a high-speed internet connection.
