Field Visit to Ratnagreen Techno Services, Ratnagiri

On Wednesday, October 07, 2026, the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering organized an industrial visit for its Second-Year EXTC students (54 students participated) to Ratnagreen Techno Services in Ratnagiri. Ratnagreen Techno Services is a renewable energy and environmental solutions company specializing in biogas plants, compost units, and sustainable waste management systems.

Students were accompanied by Prof. Sujay Mainkar and Prof. Mahesh Jadhav. The visit was specifically designed to provide students with practical, real-world exposure to solid waste management (SWM) processes, a crucial modern industry where technology and engineering principles are paramount. Students gained firsthand insights into the complete SWM process flow, observing how advanced industrial technology and engineering principles are utilised in sorting, processing and resource recovery, demonstrating the application of their theoretical knowledge in a demanding environmental context.

The interaction with the Ratnagreen Techno Services team was particularly valuable, allowing students to not only understand the operational aspects of solid waste management but also to explore the sector from an entrepreneurial perspective. Discussions centred on current technological challenges and the vast scope for future innovation, encouraging students to consider career paths in non-traditional, sustainable industries. We extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Manish Apte (Proprietor, Ratnagreen Techno Services) and his entire team for their exceptional hospitality and commitment to enhancing industry-academia collaboration. This visit successfully bridged the gap between classroom learning and industrial reality, preparing our students for future technical and entrepreneurial roles.

Dr. Sharada V Chougule, Head, EXTC Department, provided support for the successful conduct of the visit. This visit was organised as a part of the regular experiment as per the University-prescribed syllabus for the Environmental Science Lab course of Second Year EXTC students.
