One-Week Online Faculty Development Programme
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Finolex Academy of Management and Technology, Ratnagiri, successfully conducted a One-Week Online Faculty Development Programme on “Advanced Engineering Problem Solving & Operational Excellence” from 22nd June to 27th June 2026. The programme was organised under the convenorship of Dr. Milind Kirkire, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. It was successfully coordinated by Dr. Gayatri Kirkire and Dr. Mahadev Naik, Assistant Professors in the department. A total of 85 participants, including faculty members and academicians from across India and overseas, attended this FDP.
The programme focused on key emerging areas such as Industry 4.0, digital transformation, Lean methodologies, predictive maintenance, supply chain management, Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE), Multiphysics engineering, and professionalism in engineering education. The FDP commenced with an inaugural ceremony, followed by an inaugural session delivered by Dr Santosh B. Rane, Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Sardar Patel College of Engineering, Mumbai, titled “The Evolution of Excellence: Navigating Industry 4.0 and 5.0.”
Over the six days, eminent academicians and industry experts shared their knowledge on various emerging topics related to advanced engineering, Industry 4.0, operational excellence, predictive maintenance, supply chains, and digital transformation. The details of the day-wise sessions and resource persons are presented in the table below. The programme concluded with the Valedictory Session on “Professionalism in Engineering Education,” delivered by Dr. Umesh Bhushi, Professor Emeritus, Department of Business Studies, VTU, Belagavi, who graced the occasion as the Valedictory Chief Guest and Resource Person. Participants expressed their appreciation by sharing excellent feedback, highlighting the relevance, quality, and practical value of the sessions.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. Milind Kirkire, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished resource persons, participants, Principal Dr. Kaushal Prasad, the management, and the organizing team for their valuable support in making the FDP a grand success.
