ISTE Approved One-Week STTP on “New Norms in Higher Education: GAPC & AI”

The Department of Information Technology and the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, FAMT, conducted an ISTE-approved one-week STTP on NEW NORMS IN HIGHER EDUCATION: GAPC & AI from 24 to 30 June 2026.

This STTP provided a forum for discussions on the latest developments in engineering education, artificial intelligence, and accreditation practices. STTP covered topics like AI in curriculum, Federated Learning in data-centric Application, NBA GAPC v4.0, NBA Documentation & PI- based CO-PO mapping. The program successfully enhanced faculty awareness of AI-enabled education, privacy-preserving machine learning, competency-based engineering education, and NBA accreditation practices, equipping them with the knowledge and skills required to implement these emerging concepts in their institutions.

The following were some of the important objectives of the FDP.

  1. To familiarize participants with emerging trends, Artificial Intelligence technologies, and policy initiatives shaping higher education, Outcome-Based Education (OBE), and Graduate Attributes & Professional Competencies (GAPC).
  2. To develop participants’ competencies in designing learner-centric instructional strategies by integrating GAPC, OBE principles, digital technologies, and AI-enabled pedagogical practices.
  3. To strengthen participants’ understanding of NBA accreditation requirements, PI-based CO-PO mapping, documentation practices, attainment analysis, and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI)
  4. To promote the ethical, responsible, and effective adoption of AI technologies in higher education for improving academic quality and institutional excellence.

A total of 30 faculty members from the Information Technology Department, Computer Science and Engineering Department, and Humanities and Science Department participated in this STTP. STTP was initiated by Dr. Vinayak Bhardi (HOD-IT) and Dr. Yogesh Gajmal (HOD-CSE(AIML)) and coordinated by Prof. Rashmi More, Prof. Mrunmayee Hatiskar and Prof. Shraddha Chavan.
