Value Added Course: Pathway from Academic Projects to Professional Career

A Value-Added Course on “Pathway from Academic Projects to Professional Career” was organized by the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering for B.E. EXTC students from 28th January 2026 to 25th March 2026.

The course aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations by equipping students with essential skills required to transform their academic projects into professional outcomes relevant for higher studies, research, start-ups, and industry careers. The objective of this course was to guide students in systematic project development, technical documentation, and exposure to professional practices. The course successfully fulfilled the following objectives:

  1. Develop an understanding of systematic project execution and effective report writing techniques.
  2. Enhance skills in technical paper writing and research documentation.
  3. Introduce students to AI tools and ethical considerations in project development.
  4. Provide knowledge about patents, copyrights, and intellectual property rights.
  5. Understand industry expectations and relevance of academic projects.
  6. Build professional presence using platforms like GitHub and LinkedIn.

The sessions were conducted by experienced faculty members and industry experts. Dr. A. R. Sutar delivered a session on systematic project execution, report writing, and plagiarism. Dr. V. M. Galshetwar guided students on technical paper writing, while Dr. S. V. Chougule covered AI tools and ethics. Dr. S. S. Athalye delivered an informative session on patents and copyright. GitHub and LinkedIn session was conducted by Mr. Samrjeet Chavan, Senior Python Developer at Checkmate, focusing on professional networking and project showcasing. The final session provided insights into industry relevance for major project activities by alumnus Mihir Bhatawadekar, Senior Embedded Engineer at Bosch Global Software Technologies (BGSW), Pune and Sanman Lakeshri, Senior Certified SAP Consultant, Capgemini Technology Services India Limited.

The course was coordinated by Prof. A. R. Sutar with the support of the faculty members of the EXTC department. Students actively participated in all sessions and benefited from expert guidance and interactive learning. A significant number of B.E. EXTC students participated enthusiastically in this value-added course, gaining practical knowledge and skills essential for their academic and professional growth.
