Expert Session on GitHub and LinkedIn
The Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering at FAMT, Ratnagiri, successfully organized a specialized expert session on “GitHub and LinkedIn” for Third-Year E&TC students on March 18, 2026. The session was conducted by Mr. Samarjeet Chavan, Senior Python Developer at Checkmate, and was attended by 51 students.
During the session, students gained practical insights into creating and maintaining GitHub repositories for their academic projects, ensuring their technical work is well-documented and visible to potential employers. Mr. Chavan specifically emphasized the power of open-source collaboration, guiding students on how to effectively contribute to shared projects and work within professional development teams. Additionally, the session provided strategic guidance on building a high-impact LinkedIn profile to enhance professional visibility and networking.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Saurabh Athalye and organized under the guidance of HoD Dr. Sharada Chougule. This interaction proved highly effective in helping students understand how to showcase their technical skills to global recruiters and bridge the gap between academic learning and industry-standard requirements.
