A Seminar on Learning: Means and Materials for FE Students
The First Year Engineering Students’ Association (FESA) successfully organized a seminar titled “Learning: Means and Materials” on 17 February 2026 for the First Year Engineering students to enhance effective learning practices and academic skills.
The programme began with a warm welcome by Miss Safa Manga, student coordinator of FESA. The Principal welcomed the resource person, Dr. Shyam Joshi. The Head of the Department felicitated the Principal, Dr. Kaushal Prasad, as a mark of respect. Following this, the FESA Coordinator, Prof. A. Nandhini, welcomed the Head of the Department, Dr. Dhammapal Nangre.
The Head of the Department formally introduced the resource person to the audience, highlighting his academic experience and expertise. The resource person began the session by posing an engaging question to the students, “Why are you learning?”, which encouraged students to reflect on their purpose and motivation. The students actively interacted with the resource person, making the session lively and participative.
During the seminar, the resource person discussed 13 essential types of skills required for effective learning, personal growth, and academic success. The session provided valuable insights into learning approaches and self-development, which were well received by the students. A total of 345 students attended the seminar.
The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Jasim Mukadam, Student Coordinator of FESA, who expressed gratitude to the resource person, dignitaries, faculty members, and students for their active participation and support. The seminar was informative, interactive, and beneficial in motivating students to adopt purposeful and effective learning practice.
