FAMT Table Tennis Team Wins Gold for the Second Consecutive Year at Konkan Zone Inter-College Tournament

The University of Mumbai’s Konkan Zone Inter-College Table Tennis Tournament was held at Arts, Commerce, and Science College, Sawarda, on 11th and 12th September 2025. The event brought together some of the finest college teams from across the Konkan region, delivering intense and competitive matches.

Representing Finolex Academy of Management and Technology (FAMT), our Table Tennis team once again rose to the occasion, clinching the First Place (Gold Medal). This victory is particularly special as it marks the second consecutive year (2024–25 and 2025–26) that Team FAMT has emerged as champions in this prestigious tournament.

The players showcased remarkable coordination, technical strength, and determination throughout the competition, reaffirming FAMT’s growing legacy in sports excellence.

The winning squad consisted of:

  • Rathod Jay (SE CSE)
  • Korgaonkar Dewang (BE ENTC)
  • Haldankar Vedant (BE Electrical)
  • Sawant Harsh (SE Electrical)
  • Salvi Aarya (BE Electrical)

Adding further glory, Rathod Jay, Korgaonkar Dewang, and Haldankar Vedant have been selected to represent the college at the Mumbai University Inter-Zonal Level Table Tennis Tournament 2025 in Mumbai. Their advancement to the next level of competition highlights not only individual brilliance but also the strength of training and team spirit within FAMT.

By defeating seven strong college teams from the Konkan Zone, FAMT reaffirmed its position as a dominant force in university-level Table Tennis.

The FAMT community celebrates this back-to-back success with pride. This achievement reflects the dedication of our players and the institution’s commitment to fostering excellence in academics, sports, and co-curricular activities alike.

The accomplishment has been widely appreciated by President Hope Foundation Dr. Aruna Katara, Principal Dr. Kaushal Prasad, Sports In-Charge Dr. P. A. Giri, Registrar Mr. G. D. Targaonkar, along with faculty and staff members, who congratulated the team for its remarkable feat.
