About Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security)
About the Department:
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering with specialization in Cyber Security was established in the academic year 2024–25 with an intake of 60 students, aiming to address the growing demand for skilled professionals in the domain of information and cyber security. The department benefits from the strong foundation of existing allied engineering branches, with well-established laboratory infrastructure already available to support academic and practical learning. In addition, two dedicated laboratories equipped with advanced computing facilities are being set up exclusively for the Cyber Security program and are nearing completion, while a third specialized laboratory is in the planning phase to further strengthen research and hands-on training capabilities.
The department is supported by a team of committed faculty members, all of whom are actively pursuing their doctoral research, ensuring a strong orientation towards research, innovation, and academic excellence. Emphasis is placed on the holistic development of students by encouraging their participation in hackathons, project competitions, sports, and the organization of technical events. To bridge the gap between academia and industry, the department regularly organizes career guidance seminars, expert lectures, technical workshops, and industrial visits. Through these initiatives, the department strives to nurture competent, industry-ready professionals equipped with both technical expertise and essential life skills.
