Department of Electrical Engineering Held a Guest lecture on Electric Safety
In the support of the ‘Electric Safety Campaign’ by the Government of Maharashtra, the department of Electrical Engineering arranged a Guest lecture on ‘Electric Safety’ on Monday, 30th January 2023. Mr. Durgesh Sabnis, & Mrs. Pethe Madam, Asst. Electrical Inspector, Ratnagiri were invited as the Chief Guests. Mrs Bakul Mane Madam, Engineer, MSEDCL along with Mr Rahate sir were also present on this occasion. Prof. Dr J J Mane, Head of Electrical Engineering Department, offered bouquets to welcome the dignitaries.
The guest speakers explained the importance of Electric safety in the domestic as well as industrial sector. Further, they narrated the need of creating awareness in society about precautions while handling various domestic appliances. They explained various accidents, their reasons and how they could be avoided if SOPs i.e., Standard Operating Procedures are followed with help of graphics & live videos. They advised the students not to make any compromise on SOPs to ensure the safety of humans, animals and property. They briefed about the expectations of the Energy Department in the students in the forthcoming Electric Safety Week Campaign. The program ended with questions answer session.
