Prof. Hemant Vasant Chavan, Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department, received the Appreciation Award for his exceptional contribution as a Student Branch Advisor by ASHRAE Mumbai Chapter for the year 2018-19 at ASHRAE Mumbai Chapter BOG Ceremony at Mumbai on 21st June 2019. The award recognizes Advisors who demonstrate substantial contributions to ASHRAE Students Chapter by supporting student activities through excellence as a teacher, advisor, and mentor.
American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) is an International Student Chapter sponsored by ASHRAE Mumbai Chapter and America. FAMT is the only Engineering college in the entire Konkan region including Thane, Palghar and Mumbai city and Mumbai suburban after IIT Bombay where ASHRAE International Student Chapter is installed. ASHRAE promotes the involvement of students in pursuing an international career in the field of HVAC. This is administered by the students as an elected officer which offers them an experience that simulates running a business or an organization.
