Induction Program for FYMCA Students

The Department of Master of Computer Application and Student Association of MCA organized a two-day Induction Program for FYMCA from October 9th to October 10th, 2024.

The objective of the induction program was to integrate the new students into the institution and make them understand the procedures followed by the institution. It will help to inculcate the culture of the institution in them, and build bonds with other students and the faculty members.

Day 1:

The program was inaugurated by the Principal Dr. Kaushal K. Prasad, who also gave a keynote address to the students of First-year MCA. He welcomed all the students and congratulated them for choosing the MCA course to build their careers. He gave a brief history of the institute and told how it was founded by Late Shri. P. P. Chhabria with the sole objective of providing quality education at an affordable cost to the students of the remote Konkan belt. He explained in detail about the career opportunities available to the students. He explained how the institute provides the best infrastructure and facilities for the development of the students.

Mr. Gajanan D. Targaonkar, the Registrar, shared detailed information about the scholarship schemes of government, private as well as offered by the institute along with the procedure to apply, documents required, etc. He also shared that the office is always ready to help the students in completing their work.

Prof. Harshada U. Salvi welcomed the principal, faculty members and students. She gave a brief introduction and the objectives and other details of the induction program to the audience. Prof. Tejas V. Joshi, Head of the MCA Department, introduced the Department of MCA to students and explained the syllabus and examination scheme to them. He encouraged the students to attend the lectures regularly and study hard.  He also shared about the department mechanism to ensure smooth teaching-learning.

Prof. Kishor R. Bhosale, Head of Training and Placement Cell, gave a presentation on Training & Placement activities conducted by our college and placement details. He encouraged students to participate in various workshops and industry training programs organized by the T&P Cell to develop their technical and communication skills.

Prof. Ravindra V. Kerkar presented a vote of thanks to all the dignitaries, faculty members, staff and students.

Day 2:

On the second day of the induction program, an Online Yoga Session was organized. Prof. Giri S. Kulkarni instructed students to perform yoga and its importance in the daily life of students. He explained how yoga can help to reduce stress, improve concentration, improve posture and strengthen the core.

The Department also organized industry interaction through one of our prominent alumnus Mr. Mangesh Sawant, Solution Architect at Aza Fashions, Mumbai. He shared his experience and journey in the IT field. He gave information about the current trends and job profiles in the software industry. He discussed how to become a full-stack developer. Students also interacted with him.

Prof. Harshada U. Salvi, Mentorship Committee Departmental Coordinator, in her interaction, explained the benefits of the Mentorship Program. She explained how mentor-mentee healthy interaction motivates the students to study hard and counselling helps the students to solve their academic as well as personal problems.

Prof. Ravindra V. Kerkar shared information about the Student Association of MCA (SAM). He discussed the object of SAM and gave information regarding various events organized by the Student Association of MCA.

Creative and Cultural activities were also conducted during this program. Prof. Harshada U. Salvi is anchored the program.
