Workshop on the Internet of Things using Arduino Under IETE Students Forum (ISF)
A workshop on “Internet of Things using Arduino” was organized by the Association of Students of Electronics and Telecommunication (ASENT) and IETE Students Forum (ISF) of the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering on Monday, 17th February 2025 for the students of Final Year EXTC from Govt. Polytechnic, Ratnagiri.
The workshop provided students with hands-on experience in hardware interfacing and programming for various modules, including LED, LDR, Buzzer, and LCD, as well as IoT application development.
The primary objective was to familiarize students with Arduino and its potential for project development. Professor Amol R. Sutar, Assistant Professor of the EXTC Department, introduced the Arduino Uno and IDE tools. Following the introductory session, he led practical sessions on interfacing and Embedded C programming for tasks such as LED blinking, LCD integration, LDR programming using the Analog-to-Digital Converter Module, Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), Servo Motor Control, and IoT project development.
Additionally, students were introduced to the Tinkercad online tool with simple examples like LED blinking and LDR programming. The applications of PWM in project development were also highlighted, emphasizing its relevance in the industry.
Mr. Mohammad Saad Hodekar, along with the ASENT student team, coordinated the hands-on sessions and managed the overall event under the guidance of Dr. G. G. Bhide, Head of ASENT. The Head of Department, Dr. S. V. Chougule, introduced the EXTC Department and encouraged students to seek project guidance whenever needed. This program was graced by the presence of respected Principal, Dr, Kaushal Prasad.
