The COVID-19 pandemic has made us rethink and re-devise our skills, mind-set, and pedagogy for acquiring and enhancing our knowledge. With the support and motivation from Dr. Kaushal Prasad, Principal FAMT, a Webinar on “Cyber Security”, was organized by Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Department (E&Tc) on Saturday, 20 June 2020 from 11.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
In the cyber world, every minor detail about an individual can be exploited by someone. It’s the primary need to remain safe while surfing, browsing, downloading, e-commerce, and online transactions. The objective of the webinar was to acquire information about network security threats and measures to tackle.
Prof. G. S. Kulkarni, Convener of the Webinar introduced the speaker and explained the objectives of the webinar. Dr. S. V. Chougule, Head of E&Tc Department, graced the inaugural program and addressed the participants. She also congratulated the organizing team for their initiative.
Mr. Yogesh Hudale, Director, TeleNetworks Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai was the resource person who explained the important issues of Cyber Security like principles of cybersecurity, Risks, Assets, Threats, and Vulnerabilities in system/network. The speaker also discussed Testing such as penetration, black box testing and evaluation, types of Hackers, Compliance regulations, and Risk assessments. The question-answer session was conducted at the end where the participants asked various questions related to the security aspects in day to day life related online activities.
