The department of Mechanical Engineering organized a seminar on ‘Solar Installation, Commissioning & Current Government Policies’ under the guidance of Dr. M. S. Kirkire (Dean Academics and Head of Mechanical Engineering Department.) on 23rd January 2020 for BE Mechanical Engineering students. A total of 66 students attended the seminar.
The seminar began with an introductory speech by Prof. R. M. Rasal (Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engg. Dept.). Dr. M. S. Kirkire felicitated Mr. Rhishikesh S. Kondekar (Proprietor- Saurmandal Solar), the resource person for the seminar. Mr. Rhishikesh Kondekar enlightened the students about the importance of renewable energy sources. He also guided students regarding the installation of a solar power plant, its components, power calculations for choosing the solar inverter, agreement to be made with the MSEB, and on-grid, off-grid & hybrid solar systems.
Prof. R. M. Rasal, Prof. V. S. Bagade, Prof. S. U. Mayekar and Prof. S. S. Malusare(Faculty in Mechanical Engineering) coordinated the seminar successfully.
