Developing and Enhancing Social Identity of Women on International Women’s Day
The department of Mechanical Engineering in association with ISHRE Students’ Chapter and Women Development Cell organized a seminar on Developing and Enhancing Social Identity of Women’ on International Women’s Day under the guidance of Dr. Kaushal Prasad (Principal) and Dr. Milind Kirkire(Dean Academics and HoD, Mechanical Engg.), on 8th March 2018.
Ms. Annu Yadav, Deputy Commandant, Air Traffic Control, Coast guard, Ratnagiri was the guest for the function. Prof. Gayatri Abhyankar (Asst. Prof. Mech. Dept.) coordinated the seminar along with Prof. Hemant Chavan (Faculty advisor, ISHRAE FAMT student chapter) and Prof. Harsha Kelkar (Head WDC).
Prof. Gayatri Abhyankar expressed her views about the Identity of women in society and importance of celebrating women’s day, she also highlighted inspirational women contributors in India through a short video.
Dr. Milind Kirkire expressed his views about gender equality and FAMT’s contribution in educating women since establishment.
The session was specially planned for celebration of International Women’s Day. Ms. Annu Yadav enlightened the students with her views about equality of women in the society. She insisted on grooming self-confidence to become independent and also shared some incidences of her college days while mentioning the importance of self-defense. Respecting individuals dreams is also very importance. Every girl, every woman must respect her dream.
