A One Day Workshop on PID Controller & PLC Simulator- Essentials for Electrical Engineers was held on 02 March 2024 at Finolex Academy of Management & Technology (FAMT). Organized by FAMT’s Electrical Engineering department, the workshop catered to diploma students from Govt. Polytechnic, Ratnagiri.
The workshop aimed to equip participants with a thorough understanding of vital tools and techniques in modern electrical engineering. In the inaugural session, Dr. J. J. Mane, the Head of Electrical Engineering Department, outlined the workshop’s goals and its role in shaping the future of Electrical Engineers. He also discussed career prospects for aspiring engineers, emphasizing opportunities in renewable energy, automation, and beyond. The workshop commenced with Prof. P. A. Potdar leading a session to explore a selection of kits available in the electrical department, all designed to enhance learning experiences.
Following that, an in-depth session on PID controllers was conducted by Prof. S. S. Wamane, where participants were introduced to the principles and practical applications of PID control algorithms. Later on, Prof. P. J. Kadam engaged in hands-on activities simulating PLC operations, gaining proficiency in programming logical sequences and troubleshooting PLC-based systems. In the Python programming segment, Prof. R. B. Ingle introduced Python syntax, data structures, and libraries relevant to engineering applications. Practical exercises allowed attendees to apply Python for automation and data analysis.
