One-day Workshop on AI-Powered Research Tools: Enhancing Academic Writing & Publication

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML), Finolex Academy of Management and Technology, Ratnagiri, organized a full-day Workshop on “AI-Powered Research Tools: Enhancing Academic Writing & Publication” on 26th September 2025. A total of 78 students from SE, TE, and BE actively participated in this event.

The workshop provided students with knowledge and practical exposure to AI-based tools that assist in literature review, citation management, plagiarism detection, research paper writing, and journal selection, thereby enhancing their academic and research skills.

The workshop was conducted by Dr. Bhushan Jadhav, Associate Professor, Thadomal Shahani Engineering College, Mumbai. The workshop was structured into two sessions. The first session introduced students to the research publication landscape, including Scopus, SCI, ESCI, and impact factor, along with guidance on selecting suitable journals and conferences. The resource person also explained the concept of open access and APC (Article Processing Charges), guidelines for writing research papers, and demonstrated the use of AI tools in academic writing. The second session focused on plagiarism and AI-content detection, strategies to reduce similarity index and AI score, identifying journals with faster review response, and recognizing predatory journals.

The workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A, where students clarified their queries. Overall, the workshop proved to be highly insightful and motivating, equipping students with essential skills to improve the quality of their academic writing and research publications.

The workshop was coordinated by Ms. Swapnali Teli and Mrs. Sprooha Athalye, Assistant Professors in the Department of CSE (AI & ML). It was conducted under the valuable guidance of Dr. Yogesh Gajmal, Head of Department CSE (AI & ML).

The workshop concluded with a formal vote of thanks, followed by an interactive networking segment, fostering connections between the students and the resource person.
