Industrial Visit to Kumbhi-Kasari Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Ltd.
The Department of Chemical Engineering organized an Industrial Visit to Kumbhi-Kasari Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Ltd., Kuditre, Kolhapur, on 8th March, 2019. The visit was organized for Second Year and Final Year Chemical Engineering students. The objective of the visit was to give exposure to various unit operations and processes involved in sugar manufacturing and ethanol from molasses. An emphasis was given on the thermodynamics and control involved indistillation operation and Effluent Treatment Plant [ETP], where waste water is treated, as it is a part of curriculam for 4th and 8th semester of Chemical Engineering.
During the visit, Mr. Vittal. Mane, Junior Engineer, guided the students thoroughly regarding the manufacturing of Sugar and Ethanol. Mr. Prashant Patil, Office Superintendet and Mr. K. R. Patil played a valuable role in getting permission for the visit .Prof. D.C Dengale was the coordinator of the visit. Prof. S. B. Bobade accompaied the student on this visit.
