On August 24, 2023, the Department of Electrical Engineering at Finolex Academy of Management and Technology, Ratnagiri hosted an Industry Expert Session for its undergraduate students. The session aimed to provide valuable insights into pursuing a career in the IT field, featuring a distinguished alumnus, Mr. Nitin Teli, who currently works as a Senior Test Lead at Mastek UK Ltd.
The event commenced with a warm welcome from Dr. Jayant J. Mane, the Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering. Dr. Mane highlighted the significance of such sessions in bridging the gap between academic knowledge and industry requirements. He emphasized the need for students to explore diverse career opportunities within the field of electrical engineering.
Mr. Nitin Teli, an esteemed Alumnus of FAMT, shared his journey from being an electrical engineering student to becoming a successful software engineer in the IT sector. His presentation covered the following key points:
Career Transition: Mr. Teli discussed the process of transitioning from an Electrical Engineering background to a software engineering role. He shared the challenges he faced and the skills he developed along the way.
Importance of Continuous Learning: He stressed the importance of lifelong learning in the IT field, given the rapid advancements in technology. Mr Teli encouraged students to stay updated with industry trends and continuously upskill themselves.
