Industrial Visit to UR Rao Satellite Centre, Bengaluru

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (AI&ML) & The Department of Information Technology, Finolex Academy of Management and Technology, Ratnagiri, organized an Industrial Visit to the UR Rao Satellite Centre, Bengaluru, on 16th December 2025, for third-year (TE) & Final year (BE) students.

An Industrial Visit to the “UR Rao Satellite Centre, Bengaluru” was organized to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of satellite technology, space systems, and the real-time applications of computer science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning in the space domain. The visit offered students valuable insights into satellite design, integration, testing, mission operations, and software-driven space technologies. The objective of the visit was to bridge the gap between theoretical academic learning and real-world industrial practices, enabling students to gain exposure to cutting-edge space research and development.

During the visit, students were introduced to the organizational structure and major activities of the UR Rao Satellite Centre, a leading satellite development centre of the Indian Space Research Organization. They gained knowledge about satellite subsystems, onboard computing, data processing, ground control systems, and the role of AI/ML in satellite image analysis, anomaly detection, and mission support systems.

The industrial visit was effectively coordinated by Prof. Dr. Yogesh M. Gajmal, Prof. Omkar D. Dike, Prof. Shashank S. Tolye, Prof. Mrunmayee M. Hatiskar, Prof. Shraddha D. Chavan under the valuable encouragement and support of our Honorable Principal, Dr. Kaushal Prasad and Dr. Milind Yadav, Vice Principal. The students actively participated in the visit, interacted with experts, and expressed their strong interest in pursuing careers and research opportunities in space technology and advanced computing domains.
