Industrial Visit to Finolex Power Plant, Ranpar
The Department of Mechanical Engineering of Finolex Academy of Management and Technology, Ratnagiri, organized an Industrial Visit to Finolex Power Plant at Ranpar, Ratnagiri on 05th April 2025 for the students of third year Mechanical Engineering.
The visit was organized as part of the lab course “Turbomachinery (MEL602)” to enhance students’ understanding. During the visit, students gained valuable insights into the operation of thermal power plants. They had the opportunity to observe the workings of the boiler, steam turbine, coal handling and crushing unit, cooling tower, and electrostatic precipitator in detail.
A total of 37 students were present for the visit. Prof. V S Bagade, Prof. H V Chavan and Prof. S U Mayekar were the coordinators for the visit. FAMT is very much thankful to all the staff of Finolex Industries Ltd. Ratnagiri for their kind cooperation.
