Industrial Visit to Emerson Climate Technology, Pune
In view to bridge the gap between the curriculum and current industry practices in the field of HVAC (Heating, ventilating and Air conditioning) under the subject of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, an industrial visit was organized by the department of Mechanical Engineering in association with ISHRAE Thane Chapter to Emerson Climate Technologies, Chakan ,Pune for third year Mechanical Engineering students on 16th December 2017. Total 19 students from T. E ISHRAE students members participated. The accommodation for the student was arranged at I2IT Hostel, Pune.
The visit was based on understanding latest technology in cold chain field; manufacturing and maintenance of Scroll compressors, Hematite compressor and Semi-Hematite compressor; reciprocating condensing unit; heat pump and fault diagnostic on Refrigeration System Simulator. It was also suggested by Emerson officials to download myPARTNER+, an android application for updates on new products, events, and training programs.
The visit was organized under the guidance of Principal Dr. Kaushal Prasad, Head of Mechanical Engineering Department Dr. M. S. Kirkire, ISHRAE Thane Chapter Student Chair Mr. Sandeep Shinde, Ms. Nivedita Jadhav and the office bearers. The visit was successfully conducted by FAMT ISHRAE Student Chapter Faculty Advisor Prof. Hemant Vasant Chavan.
