We are aware of the problems due to global warming and climatic changes. At the backdrop of energy sustainability and mitigating the climatic changes, the idea of ‘Energy Swaraj’ has been conceptualized by IIT, Bombay. Through Gandhi Global Solar Yatra (GGSY), the young generation will be made integral part of the clean energy revolution. This year, GGSY will be held in 180 countries and 1 million students are expected to participate in it.
Gandhi Global Solar Yatra Workshop was organized on 7thOctober, 2019 by Electrical Engineering Department. Dr. Kaushal Prasad inaugurated the event and enlightened the students on the world energy scenario and importance of energy conservation. The Workshop Associate Prof. M. N. Tagare explained the importance and motive behind organizing this workshop. Prof. S. H. Mhabadi HOD, Electrical was also present for the inaugural function. 50 students of various branches participated in the workshop to be the Solar Student Ambassadors.
