FAMT Standard Clubs Celebrates World Consumer Rights Day 2025 with BIS Expert Talk
The Standard Clubs of Electrical, Mechanical, and Chemical Engineering Departments at Finolex Academy of Management and Technology (FAMT) celebrated World Consumer Rights Day 2025 on 12th March 2025 in IT Seminar Hall. The event aimed to raise awareness about consumer rights, product quality, and the significance of standardization.
The highlight of the event was an insightful guest seminar by Mr. Pushpendra Mishra, Promotion Officer, Mumbai Branch, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). He emphasized the importance of consumer rights, quality standards, and the critical role of BIS in ensuring product safety and reliability.
A total of 104 students actively participated in the seminar, gaining valuable knowledge about consumer protection, BIS certification marks, and grievance redressal mechanisms. As part of the Quality Campaign, volunteers received training and campaign kits to promote awareness about quality standards and consumer rights within the community.
The event was successfully coordinated by Prof. Nikhil Kasar (Standard Club Faculty Mentor, Electrical Engineering Department), Prof. Hemant Chavan (Standard Club Faculty Mentor, Mechanical Engineering Department), and Prof. Raju Marag (Standard Club Faculty Mentor, Chemical Engineering Department).
The celebration effectively educated students on their rights as consumers and highlighted the importance of standardization in ensuring product safety and reliability.
