The Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering under Association for Students of Electronics and Telecommunication (ASENT) organized a Social Awareness Programme on Cyber Security on 27 August, 2019. It was conducted at Shantaram Yashwant Godole Madhyamik Vidyamandir, Kelye, Mazgaon, Ratnagiri.
The students of B.E. E&Tc briefed on the cyber security and cyber crimes and explained the need of cyber security, ways to avoid cyber threats and attacks, types of hacking and its preventive measures. 57 students from the secondary school and teachers attended the programme.
It helped the students of Shantaram Yashwant Godole Madhyamik Vidyamandir, Kelye, Majgaon to get insight into the concept of cyber security and served following objectives:
- To understand what is cyber security and cyber crime , need of cyber security
- To understand the concept of cybercrime and its effect on outside world
- To understand care to be taken while using digital gazettes
- To get acquainted with knowledge of different techniques to protect ourselves from cyber attacks
Prof. A. A. Chavan (Faculty Incharge ASENT) was the coordinator of this program. It was successfully conducted under the guidance of HOD /Dr. S V Chougule. Ten B.E. E&Tc students with Prof. A. A. Chavan- ASENT faculty Incharge, Mr. S. R. Pardule- Lab Assistant and G. K. Desai -ASENT Student Chief Co-ordinator were present for the programme.
